Tasting Notes:

The Tahbilk Victorian Chardonnay 2024 is a rich, creamy, oak-aged Chardonnay that reflects both heritage and meticulous winemaking. The Estate first planted Chardonnay in 1979, with scattered vines identified as far back as 1927. By 1988, Tahbilk released its first commercial Chardonnay, and today it remains the only white in their range to spend extended time in oak prior to bottling.

The 2024 vintage was a season of challenges—intermittent rain, high disease pressure, and a lack of extreme heat—yet the Estate delivered a strong harvest between February and March, producing whites of very high quality. In the glass, this Chardonnay shows hallmark melon, white peach and citrus fruit, enriched by spice and butterscotch notes from oak maturation. A lively acidity balances the creamy, buttery palate, delivering both freshness and depth in a signature Tahbilk style.

Crafted by one of Australia’s oldest and most iconic wineries, established in 1860, Tahbilk is celebrated as a James Halliday Wine Companion Winery of the Year and maintains its 5 Red Star rating. This Chardonnay is a refined yet generous release, showcasing the Estate’s long-standing expertise.

Perfect with roast chicken, creamy seafood pasta, lobster mornay, or a simple platter of soft cheeses, the wine’s balance of richness and vibrancy makes it a versatile and elegant table companion.
